More about Pewaukee Lake
In 1838 Asa Clark built a dam and sawmill on the Pewaukee River. Flooding caused the adjacent wetland and the existing Snail Lake to join, thereby creating Pewaukee Lake.

The lake is supplied almost entirely by springs. Pewaukee Lake discharges approximately three hundred cubic feet of water per minute through the Pewaukee outlet into the Fox River.
The lake is surrounded by high, well wooded hills, and boasts more than 12 miles of shoreline.
